SAP BRIM · CONVERGENT INVOICING · FI-CA · PUNE, INDIA

Hi, I am Rushikesh Marge.

My core work is Convergent Invoicing and FI-CA: configuring billing and receivables and taking every release safely into production. That earned me the trust to lead a large team as test lead on a high-volume banking program. On that foundation, I added AI and automation, building my own tools for BRIM delivery.

01 · ABOUT ME

A consultant who knows the transactions,
and an engineer who automates them.

My work lives where subscription and usage revenue becomes real money: SAP Convergent Invoicing and Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA). I configure and test the full lifecycle, from billable items through billing and invoicing runs, into dunning, payment runs, direct debit, EBS, returns, write-offs, and the G/L postings where everything must finally balance.

I am test lead on a high-volume banking program, leading a large testing team. My responsibility was the whole release: planning the cycles, driving execution, clearing defects, and giving the sign-off that let each release go out smoothly. I built JIRA dashboards with JQL queries to track every piece of work across the team, and wrote SQL queries to validate the numbers where standard SAP table extraction was too slow for the data volumes involved. Reconciliation was one part of that responsibility, and the hardest: proving that every charge flowing through the chain landed correctly in FI-CA, run after run. When millions of records have to balance, there is no room for guesswork.

I kept meeting the same time sinks on every project: slow specs, missing test data, manual defect diagnosis, and reconciliation effort. So I built software that removes them.

I did not start with automation. I started as a functional consultant and manual testing lead, learning the processes by running them by hand, release after release. Only after that foundation did I learn automation, and then used AI to build my own tools: an AI assistant for BRIM delivery that works like a BRIM consultant on demand, and a test automation platform that executes entire suites hands-free with evidence and result matching built in. SAP BRIM is my profession. AI and automation are the skills I added on top of it.

HOW I WORK

Passed test cases mean little if the totals do not match. I sign off on numbers, not on screenshots.

I ran every process manually for years before automating any of it. You cannot automate what you do not truly understand.

Planning, execution, defect clearance, sign-off. Nothing surprising should ever reach production.

Slow specs, missing test data, manual diagnosis. I met them on every project, so I built software that removes them.

02 · CORE EXPERTISE

Four disciplines, one chain.

Subscription billing succeeds or fails in the handoffs. I work the full SOM to CC to CI to FI-CA flow, with the deepest hands-on experience in the last two, where the money lands.

CI

Convergent Invoicing

The bridge from rated usage to receivables, and where I spend most of my time.

  • Billable item management, billing and invoicing runs, simulation and reversal
  • Preliminary invoicing, debit and credit memos, plausibility checks
  • Invoicing posting into FI-CA and document flow integrity
FI-CA

Contract Accounts R&P

Mass processing at the point where revenue becomes cash.

  • Dunning and collection agency submission, payment runs, direct debit, EBS
  • Interest, installment plans, returns, account maintenance, write-offs
  • Foreign currency valuation and G/L postings that reconcile
QA

Test Leadership

Leading a large testing team, with every release my responsibility.

  • Release planning, execution, defect clearance, and go-live sign-off
  • SIT, UAT, regression, and end-to-end cycles, plus proving data correctness at scale
  • JIRA dashboards built with JQL queries to track every piece of work
  • SQL queries for reconciliation where SAP extraction was too slow
AI

AI and Automation, My Top-Up Skill

SAP BRIM is the foundation. On top of it, I learned to build the tools myself.

  • Built a working AI assistant for BRIM documents, config help, and errors
  • Creates complete applications through AI-assisted development; my tools run on Python, Flask, and React
  • SAP test automation that runs entire suites hands free, built around the JIRA and X-Ray process

Banking Program: Test Leadership at High Volume

TEST LEAD · LARGE TEAM · EUROPEAN BANKING CLIENT

Lead the testing of a banking landscape where a monthly billing cycle processes close to a billion records, and make sure every release went out smoothly. Every cycle planned, every defect cleared, every charge reconciled into FI-CA before the business trusted the system with real money.

LARGE TEAM LEADERSHIP SMOOTH RELEASES, EVERY CYCLE JQL DASHBOARDS SQL FOR RECONCILIATION
  • Led a large testing team across SIT, UAT, regression, and end-to-end cycles, owning planning, execution, and go-live sign-off for each release.
  • Made releases smooth: defect triage, root-cause analysis, and retest coordination in JIRA and X-Ray, so nothing surprising reached production.
  • Built JIRA dashboards with JQL queries to track every piece of work across the team: test progress, defect trends, and release risk.
  • Owned reconciliation, writing SQL queries to extract and compare data directly where standard SAP table extraction was too slow for the volumes involved.

Postal Billing Implementation

SAP BRIM CONSULTANT · EUROPEAN POSTAL CLIENT

Deliver billing and receivables for postal services on SAP BRIM, from billable items through invoicing and into contract accounts. Configured, tested, and ready for daily operation.

POSTAL & LOGISTICS SAP BRIM CI + FI-CA
CI AND FI-CA DELIVERY END TO END TESTING
  • Configured and tested billing, invoicing, and receivables scenarios across CI and FI-CA.
  • Delivered FI-CA processes including dunning, payment runs, direct debit, EBS, returns, and G/L postings.
  • Documented configuration decisions, test results, and functional specifications.

04 · BUILT BY ME

Two applications I built myself.

Client delivery is the day job. These are the tools I created around it: an assistant that answers BRIM questions and drafts project documents, and a platform that runs BRIM test suites hands free.

AI Assistant for BRIM Delivery

CREATOR · BUILT WITH AI-ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT

A BRIM consultant in software form. It drafts every document type a project needs, answers configuration questions across the chain, and when something fails, you paste a screenshot of the error and it explains the cause and the fix. It is fully standalone and never connects to SAP systems. Here is an example of how it helps:

SELF-INITIATED AI CONFIG HELP ERROR ANALYSIS
AI BRIM ASSISTANT · BUILT BY RUSHIKESH
HOURS TO MINUTES ERROR HELP FROM A SCREENSHOT EVERY KEY PROJECT DOCUMENT PRIVACY BY DESIGN
  • Structured agents for every document type: Blueprints, Functional Specs, TDDs, Test Cases, Defects, Stories, and Epics, drafted in minutes instead of hours.
  • Configuration help across the chain: ask anything about CI or FI-CA setup and it answers from a deep BRIM knowledge base.
  • Error analysis from a screenshot: paste the error you are seeing and it explains the likely cause and how to fix it.
  • Private and standalone by design: it never connects to SAP systems and is used with sanitised project data, so customer information stays protected.

BRIM Test Automation Platform

CREATOR · BUILT WITH AI-ASSISTED DEVELOPMENT

Turn manual, evidence-heavy BRIM test cycles into hands-free runs, and prove automatically that every source charge converts correctly into FI-CA postings.

SELF-INITIATED AUTOMATION HANDS-FREE SUITES
SIT · UAT · REGRESSION · E2E AUTO EVIDENCE TOTALS THAT MATCH
  • Full test suites executed hands-free, from billable item load through invoicing and posting.
  • Automatic evidence capture and structured reports for every run.
  • Built for the JIRA and X-Ray defect process, so failures become managed defects, not screenshots in email.

05 · INSIGHTS

Knowledge I wrote down, not just used.

Frameworks and guides I have written from real project experience.

The BRIM Testing Handbook

WRITTEN BY ME · FROM REAL PROJECT EXPERIENCE

The framework I wrote for becoming a BRIM testing expert. In summary, it covers three things. First, what makes BRIM testing different from ordinary SAP testing: the truth lives in mass runs and balanced totals rather than single transactions. Second, a training path that takes a tester from foundation level to expert, built around the documents, data, and processes of real projects. Third, the discipline of running releases that go out smoothly, from cycle planning to sign-off. Everything in it comes from cycles I have actually led. I wrote it for consultants and testers stepping into BRIM, and for the leads responsible for their releases.

TESTING SAP BRIM HANDBOOK
  • What makes BRIM testing different: high-volume runs, document chains, and matching totals as the real test of correctness.
  • A training path from foundation to expert: process knowledge, data skills, and eventually test leadership.
  • Release discipline: how to plan, execute, and sign off cycles so nothing surprising reaches production.

What BRIM testing taught me about release success

WRITTEN BY ME · FROM THE DELIVERY FLOOR

Smooth releases are never luck. Sign off on totals proven at volume, keep the state of the release live as a query everyone can see, and hold a gate that makes everything before it better. The full article, with the habits behind each.

AI IN ENTERPRISE

AI, applied for real

Many consultants talk about AI in SAP. I use it to build: an assistant that works like a BRIM consultant on demand, and an automation platform that runs whole test suites by itself. My conviction is simple. The differentiator is not the AI, because everyone has AI. It is domain expertise made teachable, and that is something you own.

PERSONAL

Travel, photography, and design

Away from SAP, I travel with a camera. Photography taught me to notice composition and detail, and that turned into a genuine interest in design. It shows up in my work too: the dashboards I build and the tools I ship are made to look clear, not just to function. This site is my own design as well.
